According to Sejong City on the 13th, Sejong Arboretum is the nation’s first urban-type national arboretum, featuring 23 themed gardens and planting 3,839 species and 2.2 million plants.
In particular, the large greenhouse complex, consisting of a tropical greenhouse, Mediterranean greenhouse, and special exhibition greenhouse, includes themed areas such as the ‘Four Seasons Exhibition Greenhouse’ where flowers can be enjoyed year-round, the ‘Palace Garden’ modeled after the Changdeokgung Secret Garden, and the ‘Byeolseo Garden’ modeled after Sosaewon.
Additionally, there are the ‘Korean Traditional Garden,’ which recreates the spirit and wisdom of ancestors who sought harmony with nature, and the ‘Bonsai Garden,’ where visitors can admire bonsai trees over a hundred years old, enabling a green cultural experience within the city.
Moreover, spaces have been prepared where visitors can experience plant species diversity through exhibitions, education, culture, and events all in one place.
From June to October, Sejong Arboretum held various cultural events such as special education programs, street performances, and cinema gardens, drawing positive responses from citizens.
This month, events like the Pinkfong Dream Garden and the My Green Universe special exhibition are being planned and operated to provide visitors with a healing time in the city during winter.
The Korea Tourism Organization plans to promote Sejong Arboretum to the entire nation through domestic and international promotional activities such as multilingual video production and promotional trips both online and offline over the next two years.
