Naju-si to Recruit 75 'Resident Participation Budget Committee' Members Until the 16th
[Naju=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yukbong] Naju City, Jeollanam-do (Mayor Yoon Byung-tae) announced on the 8th that it will publicly recruit the "8th Resident Participatory Budget Committee" until the 16th.
The total number of recruits is 75, composed through public recruitment (up to 28 people), recommendations from the Eup, Myeon, and Dong Resident Autonomy Committees (up to 26 people), and recommendations from citizen, social, and professional organizations and institutions (up to 21 people).
The Resident Participatory Budget Committee members have roles such as "reviewing residents' opinions and deciding priorities to reflect in budget formulation" based on next year's main budget, "checking the progress of resident participatory budgeting," and "proposing opinions on the budget formulation and execution process."
The committee members' term is two years, starting from January 1 next year to December 31, 2024, after final selection at the end of this month.
Eligibility to apply includes anyone who, as of the announcement date (December 1), has a residential address within Naju City or is an employee of a business with a head office or branch in the area.
Applications can be submitted by downloading the application form from the city hall website, filling it out, and submitting it via email, mail, or in person.
A city official stated, "In the era of a main budget of 1 trillion won, we plan to select Resident Participatory Budget Committee members by balancing age, gender, region, and experience so that diverse opinions from all walks of residents can be reflected in financial planning," adding, "We hope for much interest and participation in recruiting committee members for transparent and sound financial management and the realization of financial democracy."
