Disciplinary Action Against Gwangju Police Officer Who Secretly Went Home During Working Hours
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Jin-hyung] The Gwangju Police Agency announced on the 6th that they have issued a minor disciplinary action of a reprimand to Detective A of the Dongbu Police Station for leaving his duty station during working hours to attend to personal matters.
The police received a complaint that Detective A had entered and exited his countryside house located in Damyang, Jeollanam-do dozens of times during working hours, and conducted an internal investigation which confirmed that part of the complaint was true.
The investigation revealed that Detective A left his duty station and stayed at the countryside house seven times over the past three years.
The Internal Affairs Division confirmed these facts based on evidence submitted by the complainant and Detective A’s mobile phone call records.
Other allegations raised by the complainant, such as "damage to police officer dignity," were found to be untrue.
