[Asia Economy Reporter Yuri Choi] Naver is collaborating with Sejong Special Self-Governing City, the first local government to do so, to provide a search service optimized for public information.
Naver announced on the 1st that it held a business agreement ceremony at Sejong City Hall attended by Kim Kwang-hyun, CEO of Naver Search CIC, and Lee Jun-bae, Deputy Mayor of Sejong City for Economic Affairs.
Through this agreement, Sejong City will share data related to regional information such as major public policies, statistics, city news, and public facility guidance provided on the official website of Sejong Special Self-Governing City Hall, its official online portals, and subordinate websites including towns and townships with Naver. Based on this, Naver plans to expose various specialized search services optimized for public information by utilizing its artificial intelligence (AI) and search technologies.
As a result, users will be able to quickly and accurately find the latest public information updated by Sejong City through Naver search. For example, through Naver’s AI-based analysis algorithm called ‘Knowledge Snippet,’ information that matches the user’s search intent will be automatically extracted from web documents and other sources to provide rich information in the search results. Additionally, information related to official sites under Sejong City will be extracted in the form of image thumbnails, allowing users to preview site information in advance.
Using Naver’s ‘Smart Block,’ major policies or Q&A will be provided in a separate area within the search results to enhance user convenience, and various measures for search services optimized for public information will be discussed.
