On the 30th, LG Display announced that it applied the 'Transparent OLED Floor (T-floor) Solution' for the first time at 'Gwangya@Seoul,' the new flagship store of SM Brand Marketing, a subsidiary of SM Entertainment Group located in Seongsu-dong, Seoul. By applying transparent OLED to floors, which were previously limited in use, and transforming them into spaces that provide advertisements and information, the solution maximizes promotional effects and space utilization efficiency.
In the lounge floor of the 'Gwangya@Seoul' store, 33 units of 55-inch transparent OLED panels are installed. While displaying albums and idol goods (planned merchandise), various graphic effects and product information are implemented like holograms, providing customers with an unprecedented shopping experience. The transparent OLED panels can be connected like a checkerboard pattern, allowing infinite expansion to the desired size. Additionally, they generate less heat than conventional LEDs, making them suitable for indoor application, and are equipped with specially reinforced glass to safely withstand the weight of visitors and installations.
Currently, LG Display is the only company in the world mass-producing transparent OLED. This technology maximizes the advantages of OLED pixels that emit light by themselves, offering high transparency enough to replace existing glass windows, and being thin and lightweight. It is actively applied in various fields such as signage, architecture, mobility, and digital art.
