[Seoul District News] Gangseo-gu, Seoul, Awards Outstanding Long-term Care Workers... MG Siheung Saemaeul Geumgo Donates Welfare Supplies to Local Children's Center
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] The Saemaeul Women's Association of Jung-gu, Seoul (President Kim Soon-ja) held a "Sharing Love Side Dishes" event on the rooftop of the 3rd floor of the Jung-gu Community Center at 11 a.m. on the 25th.
About 30 Saemaeul Women's Association presidents and members from each neighborhood prepared three types of side dishes consisting of beef bulgogi, seasoned pollock roe, and kimchi over two days on the 24th and 25th, and delivered them to 1,050 low-income households in the district.
The Gangseo-gu Office in Seoul (Mayor Kim Tae-woo) held an "Award Ceremony for Exemplary Long-term Care Workers" at the district office's main conference room at 4 p.m. on the 25th.
Despite the difficulties caused by COVID-19, the district recognized and awarded 17 outstanding workers who devoted themselves to improving elderly care services and served as role models.
Kim Tae-woo, Mayor of Gangseo-gu, said, "The provision of high-quality long-term care services to the elderly was possible thanks to the hard work and dedication of the workers on the front lines," and added, "The district will do its best to improve working conditions and welfare for workers at welfare facilities."
Meanwhile, Gangseo-gu provides care services to over 8,000 elderly people through a total of 256 long-term care institutions, including 34 nursing homes, 63 home-based elderly welfare facilities, and 159 home-based long-term care institutions.
