Paldo Wang Ttukgyeong Achieves Cumulative Sales of 2.2 Billion Units... Approaching 100 Million Units Sold Annually
[Asia Economy Reporter Song Seung-yoon] Paldo, a comprehensive food company, announced on the 25th that the cumulative sales of its flagship cup noodle 'Wang Ttukgeong' have surpassed 2.2 billion units.
As of last month, Wang Ttukgeong recorded an annual cumulative sales volume of 80 million units, setting a new record for its own sales. It is expected to sell more than 90 million units by the end of the year. This represents an approximately 20% increase compared to the same period last year.
Wang Ttukgeong has recently expanded its brand recognition through various methods. Representative products include 'The Wang Ttukgeong' in bag noodle form and 'King Ttukgeong,' which maximizes spiciness. King Ttukgeong is the spiciest cup noodle in Korea, about three times spicier than the regular Wang Ttukgeong. It has gained popularity among spicy food enthusiasts, surpassing 8 million units in cumulative sales. They also introduced lime-flavored Wang Ttukgeong inspired by the Thai dish Tom Yum Goong and popcorn seasoned with King Ttukgeong flavoring.
