Gwangju Seo-gu Council Conducts 'Special Lecture on Administrative Audit and Budget Review'
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Shin Dong-ho] The Gwangju Seo-gu Council announced on the 24th that it conducted training to strengthen administrative audit and budget review capabilities for Seo-gu council members and all staff of the council secretariat in the main conference hall on the 23rd.
The training was held for a full four hours from 2 PM to 6 PM in preparation for this year's 2nd regular session.
For this training, instructor Kim Yong-seok, a six-term local council member who served as a basic council member of Dobong-gu Council in the 3rd, 4th, and 5th terms and as a member of the Seoul Metropolitan Council in the 8th, 9th, and 10th terms, was invited.
Chairperson Ko Kyung-ae said, "Having served as the chairperson of the Budget and Accounts Committee in the latter half of the 8th term, I always thought budget review training was necessary, and it seems that the training was timely and well conducted before the administrative audit." She added, "Seo-gu council members are currently dedicated to the administrative audit to the extent that the lights in the council members' offices do not go off until after 10 PM, having requested 409 documents from Seo-gu Office in preparation for the 308th regular session."
She continued, "In the 9th Seo-gu Council, members are evenly distributed across specialized fields such as law, media, economy, welfare, administration, culture, and sports. I believe that each of the 13 members will fully perform their fundamental roles of checking and monitoring."
Meanwhile, the Seo-gu Council plans to hold the 308th 2nd regular session from the opening of the 1st plenary session on the 25th until the 20th of next month, during which it will conduct administrative audits and review and deliberate on the 2023 revenue and expenditure budget.
