This marks the 13th consecutive year Kyobo Life Insurance has ranked first since the life insurance sector evaluation began in 2010, the most awards in the insurance industry.
The 'Korea Sustainability Index (KSI)' is an indicator that measures corporate sustainability based on ISO26000, the international standard for social responsibility.
Kyobo Life Insurance received high scores this year for its sustainable management through various ESG (Environmental, Social, Governance) activities.
To establish an ESG management foundation, Kyobo Life Insurance established the 'Sustainable ESG Committee' within the board of directors in March. It secured board diversity by appointing two female outside directors for the first time in the industry. Additionally, it disclosed ESG policies regarding response directions for each ESG issue and established an ESG roadmap.
Eco-friendly management activities are also ongoing. It has built a paperless office environment by establishing an electronic subscription system and adopting an electronic document system. In September, it obtained ISO 14001 certification, the international standard for corporate environmental management systems.
