Governor Kim promised, "We will spare no effort to actively support the relief activities of the Korean Red Cross Gyeonggi Chapter so that they can proceed without any setbacks."
In response, Chairman Lee Jae-jeong said, "Starting from 2023, the Red Cross membership fee system has changed so that giro slips can only be sent to members, not to each household head," adding, "More cooperation with Gyeonggi Province will be necessary so that many people can pay membership fees for urgent national relief."
The province explained that it delivered the special membership fee first among all metropolitan local governments nationwide to encourage active participation of residents ahead of the '2023 Korean Red Cross Membership Recruitment and Membership Fee Intensive Fundraising Period' starting from the 1st of next month.
Meanwhile, giro slips for Red Cross membership fees are sent by mail to household heads and individuals who have participated at least once in the past five years.
