A Special Stage for High School Seniors and Local Youth... 'Hamlet 2022' Classic Performance with Commentary
The 16th Longest-Running Performance Since the Opening of Ulsan Culture & Arts Center
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Dongguk Lee] Ulsan Culture and Arts Center will present the narrated classic performance "Hamlet 2022" for high school seniors and local youth from the 24th to December 15th at middle and high school auditoriums and the small theater of the Culture and Arts Center.
The narrated classic performance "Hamlet 2022" is part of the Culture and Arts Center's Masil Theater program, "Ulsan! A Cultural City Everyone Can Enjoy," created to contribute to the emotional development of local youth and the advancement of cultural enjoyment rights.
This performance will be a 16-episode touring show starting at Mugeo Middle School on the 24th and concluding at Onsan Middle School on December 15th, expected to be the longest-running performance since the opening of the Ulsan Culture and Arts Center.
The direction and adaptation of the work were undertaken by Director Yongha Park of the Ulsan Culture and Arts Center.
To make Shakespeare's original work more accessible and easily understood by youth, filming techniques were introduced, and the performance proceeds with narration of key scenes and a fast-paced storyline.
Kim Seonghoon, a seasoned actor active in the region, plays the role of Hamlet, and Kim Tae-eun, who received audience acclaim for her tragic performance in the "Salti" production, plays the ill-fated Ophelia.
Additionally, 20 performers including local professional actors such as Hwang Byung-yoon and Kim Hyung-seok, magicians, and local dancers participate in the show.

A representative of the Ulsan Culture and Arts Center stated, "This performance has special significance as it expands universal cultural welfare by directly visiting schools in areas with limited access to the Culture and Arts Center to hold performances," adding, "We will continue to develop customized cultural content programs by generation for culturally marginalized groups in the future."
