Ulsan City to Begin Construction of Janghyeon Urban High-Tech Industrial Complex Access Road Next Year
Reflecting a 7.1 Billion KRW Increase in National Funding, Total Project Cost Confirmed at 27.7 Billion KRW
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Dongguk Lee] Ulsan City is set to actively proceed with the "Janghyeon Urban High-Tech Industrial Complex Access Road Construction Project" in line with the Janghyeon General High-Tech Industrial Complex development plan.
This project, selected in 2015 as a Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport public contest project and currently being implemented by Korea Land and Housing Corporation (LH) as part of the "Ulsan Janghyeon Urban High-Tech Industrial Complex Development Project," has been promoted since 2016 as an infrastructure support project. However, due to procedures such as Greenbelt release, the industrial complex plan was approved last year.
Accordingly, the city recently received approval from the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport to increase the total project cost from the original 20.6 billion KRW by 7.1 billion KRW to 27.7 billion KRW, reflecting inflation. After administrative procedures such as revising the design documents for the inflation adjustment, construction is planned to begin in the first half of next year.
The access road will be expanded from Samilgyo Bridge to Janghyeon Intersection, with a total length (L) of 0.6 km and a width (B) of 20 m (expanding from 2 lanes to 4 lanes), and is scheduled to be completed by 2026 ahead of the industrial complex completion.
An official from Ulsan City stated, "Once this road is opened, connectivity between the Urban High-Tech Industrial Complex and Jung-gu city areas such as Oesolkeun-gil will be greatly improved, traffic flow will be enhanced, smooth logistics movement will be facilitated, and traffic convenience will be provided to local residents."
The Janghyeon Urban High-Tech Industrial Complex covers a total area of 316,968㎡ in Janghyeon-dong, Jung-gu, with a target completion year of 2027.
