Hyundai Engineering Wins Order for LG Chem Eco-Friendly Petrochemical Plant Construction
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Hyemin] Hyundai Engineering announced on the 24th that it has won the contract for LG Chem's 'E-Project'.
This project involves constructing an eco-friendly plant that produces aerogel and petrochemical products using recycled plastics within the Seokmun National Industrial Complex in Dangjin-si, Chungcheongnam-do. Aerogel is known as the solid with the lowest density and lightest weight on Earth, and it is a new material with excellent insulation and soundproofing effects, used not only in buildings but also in spacecraft and space suits.
Hyundai Engineering will also undertake the construction of UTOS, which includes utility production facilities essential for the plant such as water and air production facilities, auxiliary facilities, and water treatment facilities, as well as the complex's infrastructure facilities.

A Hyundai Engineering official stated, "Based on a close partnership with the client, we will devote company-wide capabilities to secure additional orders," adding, "With this contract, we aim to establish ourselves as a leader in the global eco-friendly plant market."
