Samsung Engineering Wins 'Project of the Year' Award in Middle East and Africa
'MEED Project Award' Winner for 11 Consecutive Years
Simultaneously Winning 3 Awards
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Sun-mi] Samsung Engineering has won the Middle East's most prestigious 'MEED Project Award' for 11 consecutive years.
On the 24th, Samsung Engineering announced that its Saudi Arabia 'SABIC United EO/EG Ⅲ Project' and Kuwait 'KNPC CF Project' received three MEED Project Awards at the MEED Project Award ceremony held in Dubai the previous day.
With this award, Samsung Engineering has received the MEED Project Award every year since its first win in 2012. MEED is a leading economic weekly magazine in the Middle East, selecting the best projects in the Middle East and Africa region annually. Notably, this year Samsung Engineering not only won for the 11th consecutive year but also had the honor of winning three awards simultaneously.
In particular, the 'SABIC United EO/EG Ⅲ Project' was selected as the top project in Saudi Arabia in the oil and gas sector and was also honored as the 'MENA Project of the Year' in the finals. This project involves constructing a monoethylene glycol plant with an annual capacity of 700,000 tons in the Jubail Industrial City, Saudi Arabia, which Samsung Engineering carried out independently.
The 'KNPC CF Project' was selected as the top project in Kuwait in two categories: oil and gas and mega projects (over 1 billion USD). It is a project to expand the production capacity of Kuwait's Mina Al Ahmadi and Mina Abdullah refineries to 800,000 barrels and reduce sulfur content to produce high-quality refined products. Samsung Engineering executed this project jointly with Petrofac from the UK and McDermott from the USA.
