Samsung Life Public Welfare Foundation Holds '2022 Samsung Happiness Awards Ceremony'
Awarding plaques and prize money of 50 million KRW each (5 million KRW each for Youth Awards)
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Sun-mi] Samsung Life Public Welfare Foundation announced on the 24th that it held the '2022 Samsung Happiness Awards Ceremony' at the Samsung Children's Education and Culture Center in Hannam-dong.
The Samsung Happiness Awards were established in 2013 by integrating and succeeding the Bichumi Women's Award and Samsung Filial Piety Award to recognize and encourage ▲ women and organizations who contributed to women's rights, status improvement, and social welfare ▲ women and organizations who achieved outstanding accomplishments in academic, artistic, and other professional fields ▲ individuals, families, organizations, and youth who contributed to practicing or spreading filial piety, thereby realizing a happy society where everyone lives together.
This year's awardees are ▲ Women Leadership Award: (Sa) Women’s Environmental Solidarity, ▲ Women Creation Award: Lee Min-jin (54), novelist and columnist, ▲ Family Harmony Award: Min Haeng-suk (60), ▲ Youth Award: Bong Min-jae (15, Chungam Middle School 3rd grade), Lee Ji-hoon (18, Kyungsung Electronics High School 3rd grade), Jo Won-woo (18, Seongbo Business High School 3rd grade), Park Eun-bi (19, Gangseo University 1st grade), Do Ji-na (24, Hanyang Cyber University 3rd grade), totaling 8 people (including 1 organization).
The awardees received plaques and prize money of 50 million KRW each (5 million KRW each for Youth Awardees). Chairman Seo Jeong-don congratulated the awardees, saying, “Thanks to the awardees who have achieved excellent results in various fields for the happiness of others and reminded us of the meaning of family, and the Youth Award recipients who are practicing filial piety and nurturing their dreams, we can dream of a world where everyone lives happily beyond discrimination and prejudice.”
