Gyeonggi-do to Conduct 'Comprehensive Audit' in Anseong and Yangpyeong Starting 28th This Month
[Asia Economy (Suwon) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] Gyeonggi Province will conduct a comprehensive audit of Anseong City and Yangpyeong County from the 28th of this month to the 15th of next month.
During the audit period, the province will receive reports on various inconveniences experienced by residents, such as permit corruption, and illegal or improper acts by public officials. In particular, starting this time, the province plans to actively conduct audits by diversifying the channels for resident reports, allowing audit team leaders and citizen auditors to receive reports directly.
Furthermore, through proactive work handling, the province will boldly utilize the exemption system for proactive administration that realizes public interests such as improving unreasonable regulations and restoring the livelihood economy. However, illegal or improper acts by public officials such as passive administration and lax discipline will be strictly dealt with.
Reports can be made by visiting the audit offices directly at Anseong City Hall and Yangpyeong County Office, or through citizen auditors and the public interest reporting hotline. Matters reported via the public interest reporting hotline are eligible for rewards.
The province will thoroughly anonymize informants and ensure that there are no disadvantages whatsoever.
The subjects of reporting include illegal or improper work handling, requests for improvement of unreasonable systems or practices, corruption by public officials, fraudulent claims of public funds, or illegal operations. Matters involved in investigations or trials, issues that may infringe on private rights or privacy, and matters already audited or under audit by other agencies are excluded.
