'Car Transport and Logistics Specialist' Roadwin Human Changes Company Name to Total Vehicle Management Firm 'Openmile'
[Asia Economy Reporter Jang Hyowon] Roadwin Human, a small but strong company led by CEO Park Kyunghyun, which has been achieving 100% growth annually over the past three years through vehicle management and logistics services, is preparing for a second leap forward as a total vehicle management platform company by changing its name to ‘OPENMILE’ and completing an integrated office building in Gunja-dong, Gwangjin-gu.
OPENMILE combines the value of an open platform accessible to everyone, represented by ‘OPEN,’ and ‘MILE,’ which expresses the distance and movement of mobility.
Among domestic mobility businesses, the vehicle management service sector has high growth potential and a huge market size, but many companies are small-scale and lack IT service development capabilities, failing to provide the services needed by client companies and on-site operations.
Since founding the company in 2011 and overseeing vehicle management services and fresh logistics business, CEO Park Kyunghyun has grown the company to about 100 employees. He said, “I have been working closely with those who play a key role in mobility, such as cargo owners, vehicle owners, delivery drivers, and freight drivers, for over ten years, constantly thinking about ways for all parties to coexist and prosper together. Starting with vehicle delivery services and driver matching solutions that large platforms did not provide, we have recently expanded our business to include inspection agency services and mobile maintenance in vehicle management.”
CEO Park added, “Based on the know-how we have accumulated so far, we will combine IT development and operational capabilities to provide web and app solutions that competitors cannot offer, expanding our presence as a vehicle service partner for mobility clients. Internally, we plan to focus on creating a solid ecosystem where efficiency is improved through integrated vehicle-related services, transparent information is provided to customers and consumers, and drivers, vehicle owners, and cargo owners can continuously coexist and prosper.” To this end, OPENMILE plans to launch ‘OPENMILE MEMBERS,’ an integrated vehicle management app for drivers and vehicle owners, upgrading its existing vehicle management and logistics solutions within this year.
In the vehicle management service sector, services that were previously provided separately, such as inspection agency and mobile maintenance, are now integrated and offered to B2B clients including Hyundai Motor Company, SK Rent-a-Car, and Audi Volkswagen Korea. In particular, Hyundai Motor Company operates as the exclusive business operator for digital key-based Pickup & Service and Home-to-Home services at official service centers through MyHyundai 2.0.
In the logistics service sector, OPENMILE successfully entered the bottled water delivery market from the fourth quarter of 2021, focusing on fresh food delivery. They continue efforts to improve vehicle logistics efficiency and secure cost competitiveness through fresh delivery (early morning delivery) and ambient delivery (daytime delivery). They also plan to sustain sales growth by securing additional partners and pioneering the industrial special cargo market.
