Singer Sarah Brightman, Famous for the Role of Christine in 'The Phantom of the Opera,' Returns for a Concert in Korea
First Visit in 6 Years Since 2016, Featuring Hits and Christmas-Themed Songs
[Asia Economy Reporter Seomideum] Crossover singer Sarah Brightman, who gained great attention for playing the lead female role Christine in the original production of the musical 'The Phantom of the Opera,' will hold a concert in Korea for the first time in six years.
The performance will take place on the 3rd of next month at the KBS Arena in Gangseo-gu, Seoul. It will welcome audiences under the title 'A Christmas Symphony.' This will be her sixth concert in Korea, with the previous one held in 2016.
The concert is planned as a time to fully showcase her capabilities, known as the 'Queen of Popera,' by traversing over three octaves and crossing genres including classical, pop, and musical. The songs will include hit tracks and Christmas-themed songs. Together with the Korea Modern Philharmonic Orchestra and the Winner Opera Choir, she will perform main pieces from 'The Phantom of the Opera' such as 'The Phantom of the Opera' and 'Time to Say Goodbye.'
Additionally, she will deliver a song of consolation for the victims and bereaved families of the Itaewon tragedy. She has prepared 'Pie Jesu' from Andrew Lloyd Webber's Requiem. 'Pie Jesu,' meaning merciful Jesus, is a classical piece composed by Andrew Lloyd Webber, the musical composer famous for works like 'The Phantom of the Opera' and 'Cats.' It is the most beloved piece from the Requiem Webber composed for his father.

Brightman is considered the most commercially successful soprano in the world. The original cast soundtrack of 'The Phantom of the Opera,' which she sang, has sold over 40 million copies since its release in 1987. The duet 'Time to Say Goodbye,' sung with tenor Andrea Bocelli, also recorded sales of 12 million copies.
