Hanjin Joins Traditional Market Revitalization... "Expanding Delivery Hubs and Practicing CSV"
[Asia Economy Reporter Yoo Hyun-seok] Hanjin is launching collaborative activities to revitalize traditional markets in Gyeonggi-do in partnership with the Gyeonggi-do Merchants Association (hereinafter Gyeonggi Merchants Association), the Small Enterprise and Market Service (hereinafter SEMAS), and the Win-Win Growth Committee (hereinafter Win-Win Committee).
On the 10th, Hanjin announced that it signed a business agreement at the Merchants' Association office of Motgol Market in Suwon, Gyeonggi-do, with key stakeholders including Lee Yoon-jo, Head of Hanjin's Parcel Delivery Business Division, Lee Choong-hwan, President of the Gyeonggi Merchants Association, Kim Yoo-oh, Head of SEMAS Southern Gyeonggi Regional Headquarters, and Kook Shin-wook, Director of the Win-Win Cooperation Support Office at the Win-Win Committee.
Through this agreement, all participating organizations plan to establish a mutual cooperation system that enables traditional markets and companies to grow together and carry out collaborative activities.
Hanjin will handle parcel delivery and logistics services for traditional markets in Gyeonggi-do selected by the Gyeonggi Merchants Association. To support the digital transformation of traditional market merchants, Hanjin will provide commission-free services, education, and promotional activities to businesses using the ‘Digital Easy Order’ app, an online sales support platform for small businesses operated by Hanjin. Through this, Hanjin plans to expand its parcel delivery hubs.
Additionally, in collaboration with the Win-Win Committee, a portion of the parcel delivery fees used in these traditional markets will be allocated to a win-win cooperation fund to support CSV (Creating Shared Value) activities such as education and scholarship programs for merchants' children, expansion of medical services, enhancement of cultural life, welfare-related projects, regional development, and market revitalization projects.
Alongside Hanjin, the Gyeonggi Merchants Association will actively promote the win-win programs to strengthen the capabilities of traditional market merchants and encourage their participation. SEMAS and the Win-Win Committee will respectively provide necessary support for revitalizing traditional markets and monitor the implementation of the collaborative activities by the participating organizations.
