Gwangju Seo-gu Council Approves Original Ordinance on Fostering and Supporting Small and Medium Enterprise Cooperatives
Proposed by Assemblyman Kim Kyun-ho
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Shin Dong-ho] The Seo-gu Council of Gwangju Metropolitan City announced on the 10th that the 'Ordinance on the Fostering and Support of Small and Medium Enterprise Cooperatives' and the 'Partial Amendment Ordinance on the Fostering and Support of Small and Medium Enterprises,' proposed by Councilor Kim Gyun-ho, were approved as originally proposed.
Councilor Kim stated, "Support through cooperatives, a collaboration platform for small and medium enterprises, is more effective in policy support than individual support, and it also enables efficient budget execution. The significance lies in the fact that the ordinance establishes the basis for local governments to support joint projects such as joint purchasing and sales, joint technology and brand development centered on small and medium enterprise cooperatives."
He continued, "By newly adding a 'purchase promotion' clause in the partial amendment ordinance, we aimed to increase the purchase of products produced by small and medium enterprises and small and medium enterprise cooperatives within the district. Through more detailed support, we will focus on revitalizing the local economy to help improve the competitiveness and management stability of local small and medium enterprises and continue in-depth legislative activities."
