Kim Ki-hyun "Time for the Democratic Party to Choose... Impeach Lee Jae-myung First"
[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Ji-eun] Kim Ki-hyun, a member of the People Power Party and one of the leading candidates for the party leadership, raised his voice against the Democratic Party of Korea, which is demanding the dismissal of those responsible for the Itaewon accident, saying, "Impeach Representative Lee Jae-myung first."
On the morning of the 9th, Kim posted on his social network service (SNS), "The Democratic Party is not only failing to dismiss the main figure involved in the astronomical power-related corruption allegations but is instead thoroughly protecting and guarding him, while demanding resignation or dismissal of others. This is a typical case of double standards," he said.
He referred to the prosecution's indictment on the 8th of Kim Yong, deputy director of the Democratic Research Institute and known as a close aide to Representative Lee, saying, "Representative Lee denied ever receiving even one won of illegal funds and insisted he did not even accept a single candy, but all circumstances and testimonies point to Representative Lee as the mastermind behind it."
He continued, "The vast majority of the public knows who the real culprit of the Daejang-dong corruption gate is. Nevertheless, the Democratic Party is obsessed with acting as Lee Jae-myung's bodyguard and only focused on shielding him," adding, "The Democratic Party has little time left to choose whether to fall together with Representative Lee or to abandon him and establish a 'post-Lee Jae-myung' leadership."
