On the morning of the same day, the Special Investigation HQ conducted searches and seizures at 55 locations, including the National Police Agency Chief's office, Seoul Police Chief's office, and Yongsan Police Station Chief's office, to determine responsibility for the Itaewon disaster. The search targets also included the Yongsan District Office Chief's office, Seoul Fire Department Headquarters, and Seoul Transportation Corporation Headquarters, in addition to police facilities. This is the second time the Special Investigation HQ has conducted searches and seizures related to this disaster, following the operation on the 2nd. Notably, this search and seizure marks the Special Investigation HQ's first forced investigation into the police command, including the National Police Agency Chief's office.
