[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Dongguk Lee] Busan City will operate a cultural heritage experience tourism program every Saturday from the 12th to the 26th as a pilot project to discover tourism content utilizing the city's tangible and intangible cultural assets.
This project is being promoted after being selected for the Cultural Heritage Administration's regional intangible heritage protection support contest. It is designed as a half-day experience combining intangible cultural heritage performances and experiences with tangible cultural heritage exploration, allowing participants to feel the charm of Busan's cultural heritage.
The experience tourism program proceeds in the following order: ▲Gathering at Busan Station and bus transfer ▲Watching intangible cultural heritage performances at Dadaepo Beach Square (on the 12th, Busan Gobundori Geollip; on the 19th, Dadaepo Hurisori; on the 26th, Saha Bangasori) ▲Exploring the cultural heritage at Mowondae ▲Experiencing Hwahaejang (traditional leather shoe making) and learning traditional music at Dadaepo Folk Art Museum.
Anyone interested in cultural heritage can participate free of charge. Applications will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis for 20 people per session starting November 7. Applicants can choose their desired participation date and apply online or by phone.
Kim Ki-hwan, Director of the City’s Culture and Sports Bureau, said, “Cultural heritage has value in itself, but its value increases when citizens can enjoy it. We hope people take a half-day break on weekends to enjoy cultural heritage comfortably with family or friends.”
