Jeonnam Fire Department Ranks 1st Nationwide in Fire Truck Operation Capability Evaluation
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] The Jeonnam Fire Headquarters, which is fully committed to ensuring the safety of Jeonnam residents and protecting lives, has once again been recognized for its capabilities.
The Jeonnam Fire Headquarters (Chief Kim Joil) announced on the 7th that it ranked first nationwide in the 'Fire Truck Operation Capability Evaluation.'
The fire truck operation capability evaluation is an assessment system introduced by the National Fire Agency to provide fire safety services closely connected to the public and to strengthen field-centered disaster response capabilities. It was conducted over two months from September to October.
The National Fire Agency randomly selected two fire stations from each of the 19 city and provincial headquarters nationwide (a total of 38 fire stations), and in Jeonnam, Jangheung Fire Station and Goheung Fire Station were evaluated.
The evaluation team, composed of one member from the Central Rescue Headquarters, five city/province nominees, and three technical experts, assessed the operation capabilities of four main types of fire trucks: pump trucks, chemical trucks, aerial ladder trucks, and articulating ladder trucks.
In this evaluation, Jangheung Fire Station and Goheung Fire Station under the Jeonnam Fire Headquarters received consistently high scores across detailed evaluation indicators such as vehicle operation skills, emergency operation methods and inspection capabilities, and fire equipment system record management status.
Jangheung Fire Station, selected as the best institution, will receive the Minister of the Interior and Safety Award for both the institution and individuals.
Kim Joil, Chief of the Fire Headquarters, said, "It seems that the efforts of all employees to improve fire equipment operation skills and enhance professional capabilities have yielded good results. We will continue to do our best to ensure the safety and property protection of Jeonnam residents."
