Gwangju University Professor Who Extorted Money from Student Sent to Prosecution

The Anti-Corruption Economic Crime Investigation Unit of the Gwangju Police Agency announced on the 7th that Professor A from Gwangju was sent to prosecution without detention on charges including breach of trust and embezzlement.
Professor A is accused of receiving money and valuables worth about 10 million won from a student under the pretext of artwork fees while working at another university.
He is also suspected of receiving money from entrance exam students at an arts and physical education entrance academy under the pretext of helping them enter university.
The police became aware of Professor A's criminal acts separately during the investigation of corruption that occurred in the faculty recruitment process at the university.
