Korean Writers' Association Urges Presidential Apology for Itaewon Tragedy

View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Seomideum] Regarding the Itaewon disaster, the Korean Writers' Association, a literary organization, urged the president to apologize through a statement.
First, the Korean Writers' Association stated, "When the last breath of countless lives crushed in pain and unable to breathe stopped, the heart in our chest also stopped," adding, "Seventeen-year-old children who survived the Sewol ferry disaster 8 years ago have now turned twenty-five and died in Itaewon."
They continued, "'The Framework Act on Disaster and Safety Management' clearly states that the responsibility to prevent disasters or accidents lies with the state. The highest administrative official of the state is the president, but he has yet to offer a sincere apology," and demanded, "President Yoon Seok-yeol should deeply reflect on the responsibility for the Itaewon disaster and step down."
