According to local media such as ABC News, President Biden appealed for support for Lujan Grisham, the Democratic incumbent governor running in the upcoming November 8 midterm elections, during a speech at a community college in Albuquerque, the largest city in New Mexico.

The New Mexico gubernatorial race is between the Democratic incumbent Governor Grisham and Republican candidate Mark Ronchetti, a former TV weather presenter publicly endorsed by former President Donald Trump. Recent polls show Grisham leading by 6 percentage points.
