A Special Urban Story Online... Seoul City Operates 'Citizen City Academy'
7 Essential Courses for the Post-COVID Era: Smart Cities, Future Transportation, Urban Development, and More
[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Cheol-young] The Seoul Metropolitan Government is operating the ‘2022 Citizen City Academy.’ Held from the 4th to the 31st of next month, this academy was prepared to communicate and empathize with citizens on future city issues in the post-COVID era.
This year’s lectures are organized under the theme ‘7 Urban Philosophy Online Concerts Moving the Republic of Korea,’ designed to make urban planning knowledge easy to understand. Seven renowned experts in the field of urban planning will serve as speakers. They will cover interesting lecture topics such as ▲Historic City Seoul ▲Remodeling ▲Future Transportation ▲Smart Cities and Urban Development.
The seven lectures will explore various issues across rapidly changing Korean cities, expanding topics from the starting point of the city, Historic City Seoul, to post-COVID urban development, future transportation, and smart cities. From the perspective of the city’s memory, the value of ‘Remodeling’ will be reexamined, and there will also be time to consider parks, which are becoming increasingly important to citizens living in large cities.
Considering the recent resurgence of COVID and citizens’ convenience, Seoul City will provide all lectures exclusively online. Accessible via computer (PC) and mobile devices, all citizens can freely attend anytime and anywhere.
