Ahn Cheol-soo: "Police Commissioner Should Be Dismissed, Minister of the Interior and Safety Should Resign Voluntarily"
"There's No Room for Excuses When Listening to the 112 Recording"
Criticizing 'Policy Reference Materials' as 'De Facto Surveillance'
[Asia Economy Reporter Geum Bo-ryeong] Ahn Cheol-soo, a member of the People Power Party, stated regarding the 'Itaewon tragedy,' "Yoon Hee-geun, Commissioner of the National Police Agency, should be immediately dismissed, and after the accident is managed, Minister of the Interior and Safety Lee Sang-min should voluntarily resign."
On the 2nd, Ahn said on his Facebook, "There is no room for excuse when listening to the 112 emergency call recordings. He himself admitted to the shortcomings," expressing his opinion.
He continued, "An even more shocking fact is the creation of a political document disguised as 'policy reference material.' According to reports, it even noted that some civic groups were discussing response plans through internal meetings. This can practically be seen as surveillance," he pointed out.

Ahn also said, "The former head of the Coast Guard was arrested for covering up the killing of public officials in the West Sea incident. The response process to this accident will also be revealed someday," adding, "If they are not immediately dismissed, it could send the wrong signal to public officials. It may lead them to prioritize political responses over their original duties. That is an unacceptable misfortune for the nation."
