GM Appoints Jeong Jeong-yoon as Chief Marketing Officer for Korea Operations
[Asia Economy Reporter Hyunseok Yoo] General Motors (GM) announced on the 2nd that it has appointed former Head of Domestic Sales, Executive Director Jeong Jeong-yoon, as Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) for its Korea operations.
Roberto Rempel, President of GM Korea, stated, “GM decided to introduce the GMC brand to expand choices for domestic customers and is offering a variety of products from Cadillac, Chevrolet, and GMC brands to Korean customers. We have appointed a Chief Marketing Officer to oversee brand marketing in order to further strengthen our multi-brand strategy in the domestic market and provide customers with a better brand experience.”
With this appointment, GM plans to organically link its representative brands introduced in Korea?Cadillac, Chevrolet, and GMC?with the GM brand, which is transitioning into a platform innovator. It is expected that strategic and effective marketing for each brand, which has a distinct vision and personality, will enable more active communication with domestic customers.

Jeong, who joined GM in 2003, has held various roles in marketing for Cadillac and Chevrolet. He also handled international duties in Singapore. Immediately prior to his appointment as Chief Marketing Officer, he was in charge of Chevrolet’s domestic sales.
