[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Ji-eun] Lee Tae-gyu, the secretary of the ruling party's Education Committee, announced on the 2nd that a policy forum titled "National Financial Strategy for University Innovation and Development" will be held jointly with the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Economy and Finance on the afternoon of the 4th.
This forum is a follow-up to the policy forum on "Reform Measures for Local Education Finance Grants," which was jointly held with the People Power Party Policy Committee last August. It was organized to gather opinions on financial expansion and investment strategies for higher education innovation and development by listening to voices from university fields and higher education experts, with the ruling party and government working together.

Lee said, "The need for innovation in higher education to nurture future talents is greater than ever, but universities in the Republic of Korea are facing many difficulties due to financial issues," adding, "I hope this will be an opportunity to put aside political positions and personal affiliations to sincerely consider and collaborate on the most rational measures for our future and our children's prospects."
