Yongin City Provides 300,000 to 1,000,000 Won Support to Households Affected by Heavy Rainfall
[Asia Economy (Yongin) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] Yongin City in Gyeonggi Province provided 10 million KRW in living expenses to 20 low-income households affected by the concentrated heavy rains in the metropolitan area and Typhoon Hinnamnor this summer.
The recipients of this support were 20 households recommended by eup, myeon, and dong offices with a median income of 120% or less who suffered flood damage.
Yongin City announced on the 31st that it provided support ranging from 300,000 KRW (for one-person households) to 1 million KRW (for households with four or more members) per household through the Gyeonggi Community Chest of Korea. The funds were partially sourced from donations for helping neighbors.
A city official stated, "We decided to provide living expenses to offer practical assistance to neighbors facing double hardships due to financial difficulties and flood damage," adding, "We hope this will help vulnerable groups recover their daily lives."
