COVID-19: 33,267 New Cases Nationwide by 9 PM... 7,991 More Than a Week Ago
2684 Fewer Than Yesterday... Saturday Midday Count Highest in 6 Weeks
As the COVID-19 outbreak rebounds, the number of new confirmed cases nationwide reached the 30,000 range by 9 p.m. on the 29th. This figure is 2,684 fewer than yesterday.
According to Seoul Metropolitan Government and other local governments, from midnight to 9 p.m. on this day, 33,267 people tested positive for COVID-19 across 17 cities and provinces nationwide. This is the highest level in six weeks since the mid-Saturday tally on the 17th of last month (33,614 cases).
The number increased by 7,991 compared to 25,276 cases on the 22nd, one week ago, and by 12,549 compared to 20,718 cases on the 15th, two weeks ago.
The mid-day tally of confirmed cases by region is as follows: Gyeonggi 9,547, Seoul 6,708, Incheon 2,201, Gyeongbuk 2,044, Gyeongnam 1,553, Daegu 1,523, Chungnam 1,318, Chungbuk 1,287, Gangwon 1,273, Jeonbuk 1,079, Daejeon 1,035, Gwangju 880, Jeonnam 861, Busan 794, Ulsan 637, Sejong 329, and Jeju 198.
In the metropolitan area, 18,456 cases (55.5%) were reported, while 14,811 cases (44.5%) were reported in non-metropolitan areas.

The daily new confirmed cases over the past week from the 23rd to this day were 26,234, 14,296, 43,742, 40,824, 34,981, 35,924, and 37,321, with a daily average of 33,332 cases.
