[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Ji-eun] The People Power Party, the government, and the Presidential Office will hold a high-level party-government meeting on the 30th to assess the financial market instability triggered by the 'Legoland incident' and discuss countermeasures.
According to the People Power Party on the 28th, the high-level party-government meeting scheduled for 2 p.m. on the 30th at the Prime Minister's Official Residence in Samcheong-dong will include agenda items such as financial market trends and response measures.
Earlier, when the 'Legoland incident' caused a tightening in the capital market, the government announced over the past weekend that it would activate a liquidity supply program worth '50 trillion won + α,' but market instability has not easily subsided. Therefore, it is expected that the necessity of follow-up measures will be discussed through the party-government meeting.
Attending the high-level party-government meeting from the party side are Emergency Committee Chairman Jeong Jin-seok, Floor Leader Joo Ho-young, Policy Committee Chairman Sung Il-jong, Secretary-General Kim Seok-ki, Senior Deputy Floor Leader Song Eon-seok, Chief Spokesperson Yang Geum-hee, and Secretary to the Emergency Committee Chairman No Yong-ho. From the government side, Prime Minister Han Duck-soo, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy and Finance Choo Kyung-ho, Financial Services Commission Chairman Kim Joo-hyun, Director of the Office for Government Policy Coordination Bang Moon-gyu, and Secretary to the Prime Minister's Office Park Sung-geun will attend.
