Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism Announces 'East Asia Cultural City' Contest... Jeonju Selected for Next Year
The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism is accepting applications from local governments nationwide for the 2024 'East Asia Cultural Cities' program until the 28th of next month.
This is an opportunity to pursue various cultural exchange and cooperation projects. According to the agreement of the Korea-China-Japan Cultural Ministers' Meeting, cultural cities and events in China and Japan will be planned and exchanged throughout the year. It allows for the promotion of diverse local cultures and the expansion of international cultural exchanges.
The Ministry supports exchange projects in various fields such as culture, arts, and tourism. The East Asia Cultural Cities for next year are Jeonju, Chengdu, Meizhou (China), and Shizuoka (Japan).

The selection criteria include ▲city capabilities ▲project implementation plans ▲local cultural development plans ▲funding plans. Local governments wishing to apply should submit an application letter signed by the head of the local government to the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.
