Seogwipo Coast Guard Conducts Job Training for Senior Coastal Safety Keepers
[Jeju=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Hwang Jeongpil] Seogwipo Coast Guard Station (Chief Kim Jin-young) announced on the 24th that it conducted job training for 35 senior coastal safety keepers at the Seogwipo City Senior Welfare Support Center.
The ‘Senior Coastal Safety Keeper’ is one of the projects promoted in collaboration with the Korea Senior Human Resources Development Institute to create jobs for the elderly. It appoints people who are local residents and well acquainted with the characteristics of coastal waters to assist in patrol and guidance duties to prevent coastal accidents.
This job training was conducted to support the smooth performance of keeper duties due to the increase in deployment locations and personnel of coastal safety keepers.
The main contents included job training on accident prevention activities and methods of situation transmission, safety education related to precautions for self-safety accidents during activities, and practical training on cardiopulmonary resuscitation and the use of various lifesaving equipment.
A Seogwipo Coast Guard official said, “The Senior Coastal Safety Keeper project is expected not only to help create local jobs but also to greatly contribute to the prevention of coastal accidents in the province.”
