View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Yoon Dong-joo] On the 20th, Prosecutor General Lee Won-seok appeared at the National Assembly's audit of the Supreme Prosecutors' Office and was giving a work report when members of the Democratic Party protested against Kim Do-eup, the chairman of the Legislation and Judiciary Committee, who was conducting the proceedings unilaterally.
Members of the Legislation and Judiciary Committee from the Democratic Party declared a boycott of the audit in protest of the prosecution's search and seizure of the Democratic Research Institute the previous day, resulting in the audit not being held for about five hours.
Chairman Kim Do-eup convened the afternoon audit of the Supreme Prosecutors' Office, but Democratic Party lawmakers surrounded Chairman Kim, holding placards with phrases such as "Condemn oppression of the opposition party" and "Stop retaliatory investigations," protesting the unilateral conduct of the proceedings.
