Gwangyang City & POSCO Win-Win Fireworks Drone Show Lights Up Autumn Night

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Heo Seonsik] Gwangyang City, Jeonnam, announced that the ‘Gwangyang City & POSCO Win-Win Fireworks Drone Show,’ which will mark the spectacular opening and emotional finale of the 2022 Gwangyang K-POP Festival, will be held on the 22nd.

Hosted by Gwangyang City and sponsored by POSCO, the ‘Gwangyang City & POSCO Win-Win Fireworks Drone Show’ was prepared to celebrate the 2022 Gwangyang K-POP Festival and to wish for win-win cooperation.

In Act 1, the opening fireworks drone show of the festival, 400 drones will captivate the audience with images symbolizing the city of light, Gwangyang, such as plum blossoms and the Yi Sun-sin Bridge.

In Act 2, which will conclude the K-POP Festival, dynamic images of the Gwangyang Steelworks will be expressed through animation.

The fantastic laser show and fireworks show depicting the passionate win-win cooperation between Gwangyang City and POSCO are expected to draw exclamations and mark the historic finale of the 2022 Gwangyang K-POP Festival.

For smooth progress of the K-POP Festival and safety management of the fireworks drone show, some roads near the public stadium will have restricted traffic from 9 a.m. to 11 p.m. on the day of the event.

Jung Gu-young, Director of Tourism, said, “The 2022 Gwangyang K-POP Festival is a global tourism festival created and enjoyed together by Gwangyang City, companies, citizens, tourists, Koreans, and foreigners, making every process from start to finish a festival.”

He added, “The fireworks drone show, which will mark the opening and finale of the festival, will beautifully decorate the blue autumn night sky and serve as a meaningful event declaring the will for win-win cooperation between Gwangyang City and POSCO to the world.”

Meanwhile, Gwangyang City and POSCO have continued sustainable win-win cooperation, including signing a business agreement on the 6th to build a landmark sculpture for the development of Gubongsan as a tourist attraction.
