This event was organized as part of an environmental education social contribution project conducted in collaboration with the Ministry of Environment, aimed at accelerating ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) management through practicing environmental protection in daily life.
The Vietnam Hope Tree donation ceremony held on the 19th at Kyobo Life Insurance headquarters in Gwanghwamun was attended by Kyobo Life Insurance CEO Jeongbeom Pyeon and Global Vision Chairman Kihyun Lee, among others.
In June, Kyobo Life Insurance signed a business agreement with the Ministry of Environment for environmental education social contribution to realize a sustainable future. Accordingly, about 3,350 Kyobo Life Insurance employees participated in pledges to practice environmental protection and completed environmental protection education, striving to promote carbon neutrality and raise awareness of environmental protection.
To participate in ESG management, Kyobo Life Insurance plans to support 6,700 Hope Trees for economic self-reliance and environmental protection to impoverished farming households in Vietnam under the names of employees who completed the education.
Following the donation ceremony on the same day, an employee environmental protection plogging campaign was also held. About 20 Kyobo Life Insurance employees, including CEO Jeongbeom Pyeon, participated in plogging, starting at Dongmak Beach in Ganghwa Island and walking along the Ganghwa Island Independence Movement Trail while picking up surrounding trash as a volunteer activity.
