According to Lotte Hi-Mart on the 20th, induction sales from January 1 to October 19 this year increased by 15% compared to the same period last year. The proportion of induction cooktops in total electric range sales surged from 33% in 2019, 44% in 2020, 55% in 2021, to 65% this year.
Electric ranges are classified into induction, highlight, and hybrid types. Induction, which uses a magnetic field transmission method, is characterized by fast heating speed and strong heat power. Although electricity costs are cheaper than highlight cooktops, special cookware must be used. Highlight cooktops heat cookware using the heat from the heating element on the top plate. There are no restrictions on cookware, but residual heat remains on the top plate for a long time, so caution is needed to avoid burns. Hybrid cooktops combine induction and highlight methods.
