Seogwipo Fire Station Conducts Mountain Rescue Training in Gogeunsan Area
[Jeju=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Hwang Jeongpil] The Seogwipo Fire Station of Jeju Special Self-Governing Province conducted mountain rescue training on the 18th in the Gogeunsan area of Seogwipo City to ensure rapid life-saving response in case of mountain accidents.
According to the Seogwipo Fire Station on the 19th, this training was prepared to improve the rescue capabilities of rescue personnel for rapid response, efficient life-saving, and various types of mountain accidents in preparation for the autumn season when hikers are concentrated.
The training assumed cardiac arrest and slip/fall accidents during autumn hiking.
The main contents included searching for missing persons using firefighting drones, life-saving on steep slopes using stretchers, training on various knot techniques and multi-anchor systems according to situations.
Fire Chief Kim Ji-hyung said, “As the number of hikers increases in autumn, mountain accidents are also increasing, but through training, we will strengthen the capabilities of rescue personnel and do our best to protect the safety of residents with rapid and systematic response.”
