The prosecution is known to have transferred the case to the police because the alleged violation of the Audit Act falls outside the scope of crimes that prosecutors can initiate investigations for under the regulations. The family of Lee filed a complaint with the prosecution on the 7th, accusing former President Moon, former National Intelligence Service Director Park Ji-won, and former National Security Office Director Seo Hoon of violating the Audit Act for not cooperating with the Audit Office's investigation into the West Sea shooting incident.
