The event was attended by about 1,000 new employees, the largest number since the company’s establishment. This accounts for about 20% of all Samsung Biologics employees. Samsung Biologics explained that the event was planned as a ‘communication space to enjoy together’ to celebrate their 1st anniversary and focused on sharing a sense of professionalism.
The event began with encouraging messages from management and a conversation with John Rim, President of Samsung Biologics. President Rim and the new employees spent time getting to know each other and narrowing differences through a popular ‘balance game’ among the MZ generation. When asked, “If you had to choose between ‘Deoplim’ (bangs covering the forehead) and ‘Kkanlim’ (bangs pulled up to reveal the forehead),” Rim replied, “The average age of Samsung Biologics employees is 30,” adding, “My wife prefers ‘Deoplim’ because it makes her look younger,” which drew a positive response from the employees.
Regarding the question about whether they prefer seniors who check and instruct down to the smallest details or seniors who trust and delegate first, Rim shared his experience, saying, “I would choose seniors who trust and delegate. There were good seniors and bad seniors, but I always looked for something to learn from them,” adding, “It was important to gain things like ‘I should do that later’ or ‘I shouldn’t do that,’” sharing his experience.

In the second part, famous instructors such as magician Choi Hyun-woo, writer Kim Ji-yoon, and broadcaster Tyler Rasch were invited to share messages about dreams, passion, communication, and motivation. Additionally, to ease the regret of having to undergo new employee training remotely due to COVID-19 a year ago, various activities and a congratulatory performance by the ballad group MeloMance were held.
Park Yong, Head of the Human Resources Support Center at Samsung Biologics (Executive Director), said, “Since its establishment in 2011, Samsung Biologics has continued rapid growth, hiring about 1,000 people last year, the largest number ever, and recently operating its 4th plant,” adding, “We prepared this event with great joy to celebrate the new employees who have greatly contributed to the company’s growth.”
Kim Jae-eun, a professional from the Contract Development (CDO) Development Team who attended the event, said, “I felt warmly welcomed as a member of the company,” and added, “It was great to listen to useful lectures from famous people I had wanted to see, and I felt a sense of belonging as a Samsung Biologics employee.”
