Ulsan Office of Education Promises Integrity in Daily Life Through Respectful and Empathetic Organizational Culture... Visiting Integrity Consulting
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Hwang Du-yeol] The Ulsan Metropolitan Office of Education is accelerating efforts to instill the value of integrity in public officials' daily lives and to firmly establish a culture of integrity within the public sector.
Starting this week and continuing for two weeks, a "Visiting Integrity Consulting" program will be conducted, and a leaflet titled "7 Tasks for a Respectful and Empathetic Organizational Culture" will be distributed to all employees of the education office and to schools at all levels.
The integrity consulting will be provided to institutions and schools that apply, focusing on sharing anti-corruption policies such as prevention systems for power abuse, sexual harassment, sexual violence, and improper solicitation, as well as enhancing understanding of the Conflict of Interest Prevention Act and the Public Finance Recovery System.
The newly produced integrity leaflet aims to change unreasonable practices and authoritarian cultures in the public sector, reduce generational gaps, and create a healthy public service environment.
The leaflet contains easily applicable content across seven areas including language, company dinners, meetings, and protocol. It encourages mutual respectful language among members, sending messages instead of gifts during promotions, transfers, or training, and refraining from forcing or circulating drinking cups.
The Ulsan Metropolitan Office of Education was recognized last year for its achievements by being the only one among 264 public institutions nationwide to receive the Presidential Award in the anti-corruption category.
This year, to realize "Integrity in Ulsan Education through Participation and Communication," the office is implementing rigorous integrity policies aimed at anti-corruption, advancing the foundation of integrity, eradicating corruption, enhancing trust, and spreading and establishing a culture of integrity.
