Seongnam City and Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport to Hold '1st Generation New Town Redevelopment Resident Briefing' on the 18th
[Asia Economy (Seongnam) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] Seongnam City in Gyeonggi Province will hold a residents' briefing session related to the maintenance of the 1st generation new towns.
Seongnam City announced on the 17th that it will jointly hold the 'Residents' Briefing Session on the Maintenance of the 1st Generation New Towns' with the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport at 3 p.m. on the 18th in the meeting room on the 2nd floor of Bundang District Office.
The briefing session was prepared to hear and reflect the opinions of residents in the relevant areas for the establishment of a comprehensive plan for the maintenance projects of the 1st generation new towns, including Bundang, Ilsan, Jungdong, Pyeongchon, and Sanbon.
Accordingly, the briefing session will be conducted in a way that the Director of the Land and Urban Office of the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport briefs about 20 representatives from each neighborhood in the Bundang area on the progress and future plans of the 1st generation new town maintenance.
The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport's schedule for the maintenance of the 1st generation new towns focuses on establishing a comprehensive plan, including the basic maintenance plans for each of the five relevant local governments by 2024, and designating pilot districts to prioritize maintenance projects.
Pilot districts are designated by comprehensively considering factors such as the aging level of the maintenance planned areas included in the basic maintenance plan by the relevant local governments, urgency of maintenance, and the possibility of spreading exemplary cases.
In line with this, Seongnam City will request the Public Procurement Service to commission the 'Feasibility Study on the 2030 Seongnam Urban and Residential Environment Maintenance Basic Plan' on the 20th of this month.
The maintenance planned areas in Seongnam cover the entire 21.42㎢ range of the old downtown areas of Sujeong and Jungwon and the urbanized (planned) land of Bundang New Town.
