Nichida Offers Tribute at Yasukuni Shrine... "No Worship"
[Asia Economy Reporter Jeong Hyunjin] Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida offered a tribute at Yasukuni Shrine, where Class-A war criminals are enshrined, on the 17th, Kyodo News reported.
According to the report, Prime Minister Kishida, on the occasion of the autumn Reitaisai (annual grand festival) starting that day, offered a tribute called "Masakaki" under the name of "Prime Minister Fumio Kishida."
Prime Minister Kishida also offered tributes at Yasukuni Shrine in October last year, shortly after taking office, and in April this year.
Kishida does not plan to pay respects during the Reitaisai, which runs until the 18th.

Earlier, on the 14th, Yasutoshi Nishimura, Japan's Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry and a member of the Kishida Cabinet, visited Yasukuni Shrine and privately offered a tamagushi (a sakaki tree branch with white paper attached) offering.
