[Asia Economy Reporter Yoo Byung-don] A man in his 20s who attempted to sexually assault a female restaurant owner after business hours and assaulted citizens who tried to stop him was arrested by the police.
On the 12th, the Gangseo Police Station in Seoul announced that they had arrested and were investigating a man in his 20s, identified as Mr. A, on charges of attempted rape and special injury.
Mr. A is accused of hugging and strangling Ms. B, a restaurant owner in her 50s, at a restaurant in Gangseo-gu, Seoul, on the morning of the 1st. When Ms. B went outside to seek help, Mr. A chased after her and swung a blunt weapon at two men who tried to stop the crime.
It is known that Mr. A committed the crime after drinking with a friend who was about to enlist in the military.
The police who arrived at the scene arrested Mr. A in the act and, after questioning him for nine hours, released him.
