Gyeonggi-do to Conduct Comprehensive Audit of Yongin City Starting the 17th... Diversifying Channels for Resident Reports
[Asia Economy (Suwon) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] Gyeonggi Province will conduct a comprehensive audit of Yongin City from the 17th of this month until the 8th of next month.
During the audit period, the province will receive reports on various inconveniences experienced by residents, such as licensing corruption, and illegal or improper acts by public officials. Especially from this time, the province has diversified the channels for resident reports, allowing audit team leaders and citizen auditors to receive reports directly and actively conduct audits.
Furthermore, through proactive work handling, the province will boldly utilize the exemption system for proactive administration that realizes public interests such as improving unreasonable regulations and restoring the livelihood economy, while strictly taking action against illegal or improper acts by public officials such as passive administration and lax discipline.
The province will keep informants strictly anonymous and ensure that there are no disadvantages whatsoever.
The reports may include illegal or improper work handling, demands for improvement of unreasonable systems or practices, corruption by public officials, fraudulent claims on public finances, or illegal operations. However, matters involved in investigations or trials, issues that may infringe on private rights or privacy, and matters audited or currently under audit by other agencies are excluded.
