Seoul City Promotes 'Mom and Dad Happiness Project' at 'Seoul Gyeonggi Baby Fair'
Operating a Promotional Space Featuring 28 Programs with Customized Guidance to Address Caregivers' Questions
[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Cheol-young] The Seoul Metropolitan Government announced on the 12th that it will conduct customized on-site promotion of the 'Mom and Dad Happiness Project' for expectant parents and caregivers visiting the 'Seoul Gyeonggi Baby Fair' held at SETEC from the 13th to the 16th.
The 'Mom and Dad Happiness Project' is Seoul's first comprehensive happiness plan for caregivers, announced by Mayor Oh Se-hoon on August 18, aimed at alleviating the most realistic childcare burdens of parents with children aged 0 to 9 and creating a social atmosphere where caregiving activities are respected. The Mom and Dad Happiness Project consists of 28 projects in four major areas: ▲Safe Care ▲Convenient Outings ▲Health and Healing ▲Work-Life Balance, with a total investment of 14.7 trillion KRW over five years (including 1.93 trillion KRW in new investments), including existing projects.
The Seoul Metropolitan Government expects that parents with children under 9, the target group of the project policies, will visit the baby fair in large numbers, and plans to provide face-to-face customized promotion so that policy beneficiaries can learn in detail which services are most needed according to their child's age group and the caregiver's situation.
First, services such as childbirth mom happiness companion massage and childbirth mom smart healthcare will begin next year for expectant parents. Considering that childbirth is a period of significant physical and psychological changes affecting women's health, the purpose is to support time for healing both body and mind.
At the Mom and Dad Happiness Project promotion space, expectant parents and caregivers visiting the site can participate in selecting the 'Top 3 Mom and Dad Happiness Projects' through a policy voting board titled 'What is the Best Mom and Dad Happiness Project I Choose?'. Additionally, a 'Mom and Dad Happiness Photo Zone' will be operated at the Seoul Gyeonggi Baby Fair venue for families visiting with children.
