For this campaign, the two companies signed a "Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for Establishing Digital Financial Habits for Children" on the 7th at the LG Uplus headquarters in Yongsan, Seoul. The signing ceremony was attended by executives including Jung Hye-yoon, Head of Marketing Group at LG Uplus, and Kim So-jung, Vice President of the Digital Experience Division at Hana Bank.
The two companies plan to distribute and expand educational content so that children from kindergarten to lower elementary school grades and their parents can easily acquire basic financial knowledge.
Parents with young children feel the need for early financial education for their children but have many concerns about the proper educational methods. Accordingly, the two companies will jointly produce educational content for parents and children so that school-age children can naturally learn about finance and develop proper digital financial habits, and distribute it through each company's web and app platforms.
In addition, in connection with the campaign, the two companies will introduce the kids-only "Uplus Ibuja Card" that allows children to engage in financial activities. The card, featuring LG Uplus characters Holman and Muneo, enables children to freely use the amount charged by their parents, manage their allowance independently, and learn proper financial habits. The card can be applied for non-face-to-face through smartphone authentication and can be issued even without a bank account.
Going forward, LG Uplus plans to continue discovering combined financial and telecommunications services for parents and children with Hana Bank, as well as activities to support the proper growth of children. Earlier this year, LG Uplus conducted a joint campaign for healthy media use by children with the Korea Institute of Child Care and Education and the Korea Communications Agency, and operated a "Media Safety Counseling Center" providing consultations for parent customers at eight open studios nationwide.
